What's Open, What's Closed This Easter Long Weekend

Municipal offices and most services are closed today and Monday for the Easter holiday weekend.

Of note, there will be no public transit or waste collection services for the Good Friday holiday. Residents who would normally have their garbage day on April 14 can put their bags out on Saturday instead.

Otherwise, the curbside pickup schedules are set to remain the same next week. As for drop-offs, both the Harwich and Wallaceburg Transfer Stations will be closed today only.

If you're looking for something to do, the Erickson and Dresden arenas are open today, while the arenas in Blenheim and Wallaceburg will be open on Easter Monday. The Thames Campus is open during both holidays.

The Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will also have regular hours on Easter Monday, as will the Thames Art Gallery, the Chatham-Kent Museum and Ridge House.

Clinic services provided by the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit on Chatham’s King Street will be closed both today and Monday.

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, routine X-rays, electrocardiograms tests, and ultrasounds are not being scheduled on either holiday at campuses in Chatham and Wallaceburg.

Most of the hospital’s outpatient services and labs will be closed, as well as the on-site pharmacy.

Just make sure you have all the chocolate you need for an Easter egg hunt, because the Real Canadian Superstore, Sobey’s, Walmart and Giant Tiger in Chatham are all closed today and Easter Sunday, with regular buisness hours on Monday.
