And the Second Shame Award Goes To...

Water Wells First is giving Chatham-Kent Councillor Jeff Wesley its second shame award.

Group Spokesperson Kevin Jacubec says it's for misleading the public in the Wallaceburg Courier Press February 16.

The Chatham-Kent group says nearby wind turbines are contaminating local drinking water.

Kacubec says water protection is an important issue and can't be taken lightly, adding "we're presenting Councillor Wesley this figurine of Pinocchio to remind Councillor Wesley the story of Pinocchio and what happens when you mislead the public."

Mayor Randy Hope is up next for the third Water Wells First shame award for what the group calls a lack of leadership.

"What we're seeing is a lack of leadership at the council level which is unprecedented," Jakubec says, adding that council has been too silent over the issue of good water quality.
