The Chatham-Kent Police Critical Incident Response Team is responding to more calls.
The team had 154 calls for service last year which is a 13% increase from 2015.
A report presented to the police services board Tuesday indicates that calls have steadily jumped since 2010 because of "the increased complexities and responsibilities of policing like mental health issues."
Weapons-related calls continues to be the highest types of call with 54 in 2106 compared to 39 in 2015.
