The Blenheim water tower is getting a face lift.

The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission has decided to re-coat the inside as well as the outside, and repaint it.

The price tag for the renovations is $1.7-million.

The tower was built in 1999.

Work should be completed by the end of July.

The Ridgetown and Highgate areas are eventually getting a new water system.

The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission has voted to dig another water well and engineering work is currently being done at a cost of almost $500,000.

Construction work is expected to take placeĀ in the second phase.
