Checking Out The Latest Gear

Area contractors are about to get a sneak peak at some of the new, environmentally friendly products coming out this year.

On January 17, about 600 contractors from Chatham-Kent, London and Windsor-Essex will meet in Chatham for Home Hardware's Pro Contractor Tradeshow.

Attendees will be able to test out some of the new products and give feedback to the vendors.

"Energy efficiency has become a real hot topic with rising energy costs," says Alec Thompson, contractor, communications marketing manager.

"It's a perfect opportunity for them to brush up on what's new and exciting in 2017."

Although the tradeshow will focus on the products, there will be some friendly competitions and prizes in the mix.

"They have a chance to win a brand new Toyota Tundra," says Thompson. "And at the end of the evening we have a $2,000 Home Hardware gift card to give away as well."

Chatham is one of seven locations where the tradeshow will be stopping.

It is an invitation-only event but Thompson says there's still time for people to RSVP.

"Professional builders and tradespeople need only go to their local Home Hardware Building Centre and sign up to come on down," he says.

The Tradeshow will be held at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham from 3:30pm-7:30pm.
