Four Maroons Highlight Top Prospects

Some of the best young stars in the GOJHL will be taking the ice today in Ancaster.

There are two Top Prospects games taking place featuring players aged 16-18 years old.

Kevin Gursoy is one of four Chatham Maroons who were selected to participate.

"I'm just going to try to get some good puck movement going and some good shots," says Gursoy. "Try to get some offence generated -- that's probably the main focus of my game."

He'll be lining up with some unfamiliar teammates, but Gursoy isn't concerned about finding chemistry with them quickly.

"Hopefully I'll be able to talk to some of them and mesh beforehand," says Gursoy. "I think it'll be alright."

Gursoy will play at 6pm in the prospects game that features 17-year-old and 18-year-old players while three of his teammates will take part in the 16-year-olds' game at 3pm.

Maroons forward Bobby Harrison, defenceman Braden Henderson, and goaltender Lucas Patton will all play in the 3pm game. Patton is one of just two 17-year-olds taking part in the early game -- both are goalies.

The Leamington Flyers are also sending four players to Ancaster for the prospects games. Defenceman Parker Jacques will play in the early game while his teammates Mitchell Crevatin and Griffin Robinson line up in the late game. Connor Meyerink was also named to the team, but he is not available to play.

The LaSalle Vipers will have two players at the showcase. Jack Bowler and Michael Ruttinger were both selected to represent the Vipers.
