Lets Get Packing

It's time to get out the wrapping paper and tape for toy packing with the Chatham Goodfellows.

Monday night marks the first of four nights where volunteers will wrap up toys that will be delivered later this month.

Chairperson Rose Peseski says so far, they've received a lot of donations.

"Chatham has been so gracious in their donations," she says. "I've been very pleased with all of the donations."

As far as topping last year's numbers, Peseski says she won't know until they finish packing.

"I think we're doing a bit better," says Peseski. "It just looks big right now where everything is, but once we get the boxes going then I'll know where we are."

Volunteers are still needed for toy packing from 6pm-8pm, Monday to Thursday at the Guspro building on Grand Ave.

"We will tell you what to do and how to pack," says Peseski. "We ask if volunteers also want to come out for the day of delivery [on December 20 at 5:30pm]."

Although toy packing starts this week, it's not too late to make a donation.

Peseski says they're in need of toys for boys ages 8-12 and for girls from 10 to 12 years old, adding those seem to be the most difficult ages to buy for.
