Teen Pedestrian Killed on Moraviantown First Nation

A 16-year-old female has died and two others have been injured after being struck by a vehicle on Moraviantown First Nation.

Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police say around 1:40am on Saturday, a Chrysler 300 had turned south onto Centre St., when it struck the pedestrians.

The three pedestrians, all from Moraviantown First Nation had been taken to hospital. However, the 16-year-old succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile a 24-year-old male has been transferred to a London Hospital, and a 17-year-old female has been released with minor injuries.

The driver, a 21-year-old male from Moraviantown First Nation was not injured.

OPP Traffic Collision Investigators are at the scene investigating.

Centre Rd. between River Line and School House Line is expected to be closed for several hours.
