Goodfellows Office Open For Business

With the holiday season quickly approaching, the Goodfellows office is officially open.

The local business, which helps ensure children are able to enjoy the holidays, is opening its doors at 9am Monday morning.

Board Director Tim Mifflin says if families are in need of a little help, they should contact the office.

"We do not take referrals," says Mifflin. "If somebody is in need, all the information is treated confidentially."

Goodfellows helped about 1,400 families last year with their fundraising event. Mifflin says although they look to raise more money each year, they don't have a set goal.

"We know that every year it will cost us well over $125,000 for the food and toys," says Mifflin. "Everyone knows the fine work that we've done here and we just simply rely on the public."

This year's Porch Light campaign will be held on December 5, and the Street Sales event will take place December 16-17.

"We just hope and pray that everyone supports us each and every year," says Mifflin.

The Goodfellows office is located at the Spirit and Life Centre on Wellington St. in Chatham -- it's open Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm until December 2.
