More Families Using Chatham's Food Bank

Chatham's Outreach for Hunger is seeing an increase in the number of families looking for help from the food bank.

Executive Director Brenda LeClair says the growing number is concerning.

"We can see on average 50 new families every month coming in, on top of the 300-400 families who are already needing to use our system," says LeClair.

Despite the growing numbers, LeClair says they are fully stocked and ready for the Thanksgiving weekend.

"We have a lot of fresh produce right now and we're very grateful for that," says LeClair. "We'll do what we can to help make people have a great Thanksgiving."

However, looking past the holiday weekend LeClair says the need for supplies is constant throughout the year.

"The need's not going to change," she says. "We need people to still think about us and give what you can when you can."
