New Doc For CKHA's Women and Children's Program

Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist Dr. Charles Hamm says he's already seeing patients and is happy to join the the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

The CKHA recently announced Hamm as the newest addition to its Women and Children's Program.

Originally from Nova Scotia, Hamm worked as the Section Chief and Chair for the province for nine years. Hamm left Nova Scotia last year to work in St. Thomas.

"They were a bit over staffed so I was doing some calls here in Chatham and fell in love with it so I decided to come," says Hamm.

He says he's able to get exactly what he needs in terms of support from the CKHA and from other specialties such as general surgery, radiology and internal medicine.

"I have great resources in the hospital, a great support team, the nurses do a phenomenal job, and there's a new labour and delivery unit," says Hamm.

He adds that Chatham also benefits him in his personal life as well.

"If you're a boater, you can't beat Mitchell's Bay and we're very close to Detroit and I'm a huge Detroit Lions fan," says Hamm.

Hamm says he's currently seeing patients in the hospital while his office is under construction in the Chatham mall on King St.
