Picked For Apple: Chatham Resident Heads To California
A Chatham Bell employee has won the chance to get a sneak peek at the inner-workings of Apple in California.
Tasha Smith won the trip by completing an essay through the company’s Apple Masters Program. Her essay was selected as a winner, and now she’ll be one of two employees across Canada headed to Cupertino California.
“It’s really exciting,” says Smith. “I’m hoping to learn a little bit more and see how the head office and everything works. I’ll see how things are tested and meet people around the world, because it’s actually a worldwide event.”
Smith is unsure if she’ll get a preview of any new Apple products, including the rumoured “iPhone 7.”
“They’ve said there’s some guest speakers, but they haven’t really said anything like that yet. There may be some unveiling of some new product, I have no idea, but I guess I’ll find out when I get there,” says Smith.
Smith leaves for the three-day conference on August 16.
