Sloan Set To Headline Kinstock

Canadian award-winning talent is sure to be the highlight of Dresden's Kinstock Festival Saturday.

In addition to a number of local bands, Sloan will be the feature act at the festival in Dresden's Kinsmen Park. The band, originating from Halifax, won a Juno in 1997 for Best Alternative Album "One Chord To Another."

"It was definitely our most commercially successful record," band member Chris Murphy said during an interview with COOL FM's J Stevens. "We made it on weekends with just our own dough. I think it cost us about $8,000."

In terms of a set list for Saturday's performance, Murphy says there will be plenty of hits.

"In the summer we usually play mostly recognizable songs. We sometimes just divide the set list up equally [between all the singers]," says Murphy.

Bands will start playing at Kinstock at 4pm Saturday. For more information about the festival, click here.
