Two Arrested In Forcible Confinement Case

Two 18-year-old men from Bothwell are facing assault and forcible confinement charges stemming from an incident on Moraviantown First Nation.

Details remain scarce, but OPP say officers were called to a home on Moraviantown around 5:30pm on April 21 for an assault complaint.

The first teen faces charges of assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with recognizance.

The second teen faces charges of assault, forcible confinement and failing to comply with recognizance.

Both are being held for a bail hearing, scheduled for this morning.

Since the investigation is domestic in nature, no names have been released.

Investigators say more details will be released as the case goes on. OPP identify forcible confinement as being held against your will.

It is unclear how long the victim was being held for.

OPP are urging anyone in an abusive relationship to reach out for help by calling the Assaulted Women's Helpline at 1-866-863-0511.

Anyone with information in regards to this investigation is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
