A vacant building in Thamesville has been destroyed after fire broke out.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services says firefighters arrived at 29311 Zone Rd. 1 just after midnight to find the building fully engulfed in flames.  Fire officials say the building had been vacant for a considerable amount of time.

The Bothwell fire station had to attend the fire as well to assist with water supply, as firefighters battled the blaze for several hours.

No one has been reported injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and fire officials have not released a damage estimate from the fire.
