A 94-year-old Blenheim woman is now facing a careless driving charge after a pedestrian was seriously injured back in February.
Margery McNear, 94, will appear in court on April 27 to answer to the charge.
On February 16, a Chatham woman was leaving a clinic on Talbot St. in Blenheim when a car pulled into a parking spot and failed to stop, smashing into her lower body.
She was initially taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance then transferred to a London hospital, where she remains, more than a month and a half later.
Sources tell BlackburnNews.com the victim is undergoing surgery to have her right leg amputated above the knee on April 1. She will use a wheelchair to get around and be in recovery for several months.
The 94-year-old was also taken to hospital the day of the crash as a precaution and later released.
