Leamington Approves Development Extension

The Municipality of Leamington is giving an extension to Koppert Canada to develop lands sold to them in 2014.

The municipality sold the lands on Seneca Rd. to Koppert to build a warehouse and office space for its operations. Once completed the space will become Koppert's national headquarters.

Leamington Mayor John Paterson says it is taking longer than expected to develop the property, but he is confident the company is moving forward.

"They haven't been able to quite get everything together to move ahead with the building that they want to do but now that's in the process, it's already with the building department for site plan agreement and all that kind of stuff," says Paterson.

Construction is expected to start at the end of the year or beginning of next.
