Drug Charges Laid In Suspected Cedar Springs Arson

A man accused of setting fire to an eight unit residence in Cedar Springs is now facing drug-related charges.
The Chatham-Kent Police Drug Enforcement Unit was called in as investigators looked for the cause of the March 9 blaze on Charing Cross Rd.
As a result of the search warrant, officers seized 191g or almost half-a-pound of pot and cannabis resin, along with other items used in the production of a controlled substance.
Value of the drugs is set at over $3,800.
In addition to charges of arson endangering life, arson damage to property, and break and enter, a 24-year-old Chatham man is facing production of a controlled substance charge.
A 28-year-old woman is also charged with production of a controlled substance.
Both were released with a future court date.
