Chatham-Kent council is rewarding the efforts of Blenheim's Rotary Club for beautifying the heart of their community.
The budget committee this week approved giving the group $30,000 annually to help operate Blenheim's Talbot Trail Park.
South Kent Councillor Karen Herman says the group deserves the money, considering they converted the brownfield on their own dime.
"The brownfield itself is something that we struggle to actually identify in our communities and how we can overcome them and make them something," says Herman. "More aesthetically pleasing, or useful, economically."
The park has an annual operating budget of $90,000.
