Warmest February 3 On Record

This is the warmest February 3 in Southwestern Ontario history with temperatures in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent hitting 13 C or 55 F.

The last record was set in 1991 when temperatures reached 9 C or 48 F.

"Normally for the highs around this time of year should be -1, well oh my gosh they are leaps and bounds above that normal high," says David Phillips, climatologist with Environment Canada. "These are temperatures that you would expect on average on April 15."

Phillips says people shouldn't put their winter coats away yet- temperatures should go back to around seasonal by tomorrow .

"A little bit of a rude awakening, we see tomorrow we could be back with temperatures closer to what we'd expect for this time of the year and we could see some of the white stuff," says Phillips.
