Maroons Fall To Flyers

A penalty filled game saw the Chatham Maroons fall 4-1 to the Leamington Flyers on Sunday.

The Flyers took a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Chatham was able to tie things up 1-1 in the second. The final frame saw Leamington score three unanswered goals to win it over the Maroons.

Maroons Captain Ian Faubert says while playing the Flyers, he could really feel the intensity of the upcoming playoffs.

"I've been in this league long enough to know what its like and that first period, they came out to play," he says. "I thought we were ready, the boys thought we were ready too but that's something we've seen yet this year. I don't think we've seen a team that's been that ready to play."

The Flyers face the London Nationals on Wednesday at 7:30pm. And then on Thursday, the Maroons will take on the Flyers once again at 7:10pm.
