An anonymous donor has come forward to help the Salvation Army reach its fundraising goal in Chatham-Kent.
Captain Stephanie Watkinson says they were $1,800 short of their goal last week.
"We had a very generous donor call me up and say 'you're only short $1,800 I will make up that shortage," says Watkinson. "So we have achieved the $450,000 goal that we set out."
Watkinson says the business that made the contribution is a regular donor and topped them up so they could achieve their goal without cutting services.
The Salvation Army extended its December 31 deadline by two weeks after announcing they were $50,000 short of their goal.
