There won't be an all star game this year for players in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Commissioner Chuck Williams says they made that decision after hearing from a number of coaches and scouts.
"They just asked us to consider not having the all star game because from their point of view, they had already seen these players and it wasn't a very competitive game to watch," says Williams.
While the all star game has been called off, the Top Prospects game will still go ahead because the level of competition is typically much better.
"You have players who are younger in the league and obviously still eager to possibly earn a scholarship or get a chance to play in the OHL," says Williams. "The game itself usually does a better job of displaying the skill of the players involved."
The GOJHL's Top Prospects game is taking place on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph.
