Hwy. 402 Reopens After Overpass Crash (Gallery)

The eastbound lanes of Hwy. 402 between Front St. and Indian Rd. reopened shortly after 1am Thursday.

It had been closed since the noon hour Monday when a large vessel on a flatbed trailer caused significant damage to the underside of the Indian Rd. overpass.

A large section of the overpass road deck and three concrete girders have been removed.

The northbound lanes of the Indian Rd. overpass re-opened Thursday afternoon. The southbound lanes will be closed until repairs are completed in the spring.

The name of the driver of the transport truck, who is from Ontario, is being withheld pending completion of the investigation and possible charges
