Warriner Making NHL Broadcasting Debut

Blenheim-native Todd Warriner is getting a chance to cover an NHL game as a broadcaster.

The former NHLer and Windsor Spitfire alumnus will be on Sportsnet's in-studio panel in Toronto for tonight's Ottawa-Vancouver game.

"I'm going to work with Brad May as our host and P.J. Stock," says Warriner. "I'm looking forward to it -- I just found out last night."

Warriner says he'll continue to do Junior hockey commentary for Sportsnet and Windsor Spitfires games on TVCogeco, but is open to the possibility of covering more NHL games.

"I don't know what's in store for me -- I'm not worried about it and don't have any long-term goals in terms of that," says Warriner. "I love what I'm doing right now and I love covering junior hockey, but if they would see me doing that down the road on a regular basis in the NHL then I'd be happy to do it."

Tonight's game starts at 7:30pm.
