The Leamington Tomato Festival officially kicks off at noon today at the town's giant tomato.
Committee members will hold the official "slicing of the tomato" and then sell toasted tomato sandwiches.
Other events include the annual parade Saturday morning, which will have a new route because of construction, according to chair Mike Ciacelli. "We're going to head to downtown Leamington and turn on Talbot. We're going to go to Chestnut, south to Oak St. and then we're going to go east to Erie St., then south on Erie."
The "Tomatofest Ambassadors" scholarship winners will also be announced.
The weekend also features a cooking competition called "Sliced," volleyball, vendors, and the Lion's pancake breakfast.
The majority of events will be held at Seacliff Park.
