Economic Development CEO's Last Day

Today is Sandra Pupatello's last day as CEO of the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation and now the search is on to find her replacement.

Pupatello announced her resignation during a dramatic press conference earlier this month.

WEEDC board chair Marty Komsa says Pupatello is leaving the corporation with a clear plan. "We have all the confidence in the world of the staff at WEEDC that they are very capable and they're very comprehensive in following through with all of those plans for at least the next four months," says Komsa.

It will be business as usual, he says, even though Pupatello is a big loss to the organization. "Sandra does have a lot of connections and Sandra has made some great inroads for WEEDC using all of her connections," says Komsa. "But I can certainly tell you that I don't think that anybody is going to not want to deal with the Windsor Economic Development (Corporation) because Sandra is not there."

Komsa isn't saying anything about if they've found a temporary replacement and who that may be. A formal announcement is expected by Tuesday.
