Dresden Raceway Celebrates Canada Day With OSS

On Wednesday the Ontario Sire Stakes program is returning to the Dresden Raceway after a two-year hiatus.

The OSS is a training program for two or three-year-old standarbred race horses. The Canada Day races will feature the three-year-old trotting fillies.

Sandra Snyder with the OSS says these races offer some high-stakes action for spectators. "They compete in five events all across ontario during the summer. They're attempting to collect points so they can compete in the Grassroots Championship at the end of the season."

There will be seven divisions of races, each with an $18,000 dollar prize. Post time is set for 1:30pm.
