Thousands of fans swarmed the 2.3 mile track over the weekend to watch the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.
Felix Gastelum brought his wife and son who say the Grand Prix is better than Disney Land. "Some sports are better to watch on TV and you get a good sense of what's going on," he says. "Racing, you need to be here feel it. It's different -- the sound, the excitement, the speed."
Rockwell Bonecutter is a hardcore racing fan from Ohio. "My favourite part of Indy races is the start because the whole place is filled with hope," Bonecutter says. "About two laps into the race then you just feel the hope just get vacuumed out as the leaders start to take their hold."
Carlos Munoz won Race 1 of the Chevrolet Indy Dual on Saturday, while Sebastien Bourdais took home the checkered flag on Sunday in Race 2.
