Teachers Negotiating Locally
Provincial issues have caused work to rule action at public elementary schools, but issues at the local level need sorting out as well.
Ron Revait, president of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario Lambton-Kent Chapter, says discussions are friendly but so far not fruitful.
“Negotiations with the school board locally have been positive,” he says. “We have not made a lot of progress but all dialogue has been well-received both ways.”
Revait didn’t discuss what local issues are outstanding but says negotiations will resume May 20.
