Chatham-Kent OPP is laying charges against a 32-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman after police recovered a stolen vehicle on Hwy. 40 just north of Chatham.
Provincial police say an officer pulled over a Toyota Matrix early yesterday morning for a traffic violation and learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Chatham.
The 32-year-old Chatham man driving the vehicle is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, driving without proper headlights, and driving without a licence.
The 26-year-old female passenger is charged with breaching her bail conditions.
