OPP Keeps Horses Off Highway
An unusual traffic situation for OPP officers in Chatham-Kent when two horses strayed near the Hwy. 401 westbound on-ramp at the Queens Line interchange east of Tilbury.
Constable Janine Belanger says officers blocked access to the highway this morning and briefly shut down the ramp.
“The horses appeared to be close to the ramp, they never did reach the highway,” she says. “The officers attended and made sure they stayed in the grassed area that was between the ramp and the 401.”
She says police briefly blocked the ramp. The owner of the animals collected them a short time later and there were no injuries to horses or humans.
