United Way Exceeds Its Goal

The United Way of Chatham-Kent is celebrating after exceeding its goal for the 2014 fundraising campaign.

The agency managed to raise $1.914-million, narrowly eclipsing its $1.9-million goal.

Chatham-Kent United Way Campaign Co-chairs Dean and Margery Muharrem are thrilled with the success.

"We did a lot of ground work back in April, May. We were already talking to people in June. We had the team in place, so when we announced in September we hit the road running," says Dean Muharrem.

The last campaign for United Way missed its target, raising $1.850-million, but the 2014 campaign was able to raise $64,000 more.
