Economy Turning Around In Leamington
Leamington Mayor John Paterson hopes new and expanding industries are just the beginning of his town’s economic revival.
An unnamed company is planning a 40,000 sq. ft. building in an industrial park, and manufacturer Uni-Fab is looking to build another 39,000 sq. ft. building.
Paterson says he knew Uni-Fab had plans to expand. “When I was there to do the sod turning, the owner of the company said within 18 months they hoped to twin their new building. That’s exactly what’s happening.”
Paterson says an expansion at ElringKlinger and the possibility of increased jobs at Highbury Canco are also on the horizon. And, he says a new hydro line into the town could lead to other industries considering a site in Leamington.
