Poor Driving Conditions Expected

Environment Canada is warning of winter weather possibly causing poor driving conditions overnight into Friday morning.

The weather agency says an Arctic cold front will sweep southeast through southern Ontario, bringing 2 cm-5 cm (trace -2 in) of snowfall. Up to 5 cm-10 cm (2 in - 4 in) of snow is possible is some areas in southwestern Ontario.

Strong winds are also expected to cause drifting and blowing snow in many areas, with visibility occasionally reduced to 1 km or less. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

The snow is expected to ease up sometime Friday morning, as the cold front moves through to the southeast of the lower Great Lakes.
