The agency is bringing a familiar face to the executive director position, with Lu Ann Cowell retiring after 39 years.
Ron Coristine Jr. has worked with Chatham-Kent Community Living for 24 years, most recently as a program director.
He says one of the challenges they'll face this year is increasing the social capital of the people they work with. "That would entail people having friends within their own community, and people being active participants with their own community. Attending church of their choice, being a member of a sporting team if they so desire."
Coristine adds he wants to see the agency be more actively involved in the community as well.
