Maroons Fall To Predators In OT

The Chatham Maroons lost a close 5-4 game to the Lambton Shores Predators in overtime Sunday night.

During the game, the Maroons took a 2-1 lead going into the second period, but the Predators tied the game 3-3 before the third. In the final 20 minutes, both teams scored one goal to force overtime. The Predators scored the winning goal after three minutes of extra time.

Maroons Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says his team took a number of penalties and the Predators were able to take advantage.

"(Lambton Shores) got two power play goals in the second. We kind of took our foot off the gas and that kind of deflated us," he says. "We definitely can't take those penalties. We gave them an opportunity to get back into the game because we took those penalties."

The Maroons are back on Friday to take on the St. Marys Lincolns at 7:30pm.
