Maroons Drop Third StraightDecember 4, 2014 11:00pm
The Chatham Maroons suffered their third loss in a row after being defeated 5-3 by the Sarnia Legionnaires.
During the game on Thursday, the Legionnaires took a 2-0 lead in the first period. In the second and third periods, both teams matched each other goal-for-goal, scoring three times each. Thanks to the two goal lead in the first period, Sarnia took the win over Chatham.
Maroons Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says having recently been promoted to his new position, there’s a little added pressure to get a win under the team’s belt.
“It’s one of those things where you just want to get the monkey off your back,” he says. “Once we get the first [win], I think the pressure will be lifted off of us as a hockey club. Right now, it’s tough to come by wins and it’s not because of a lack of effort or anything like that…We’ll find ways to win these hockey games.”
The Maroons are back on the ice on Saturday to take on the Strathroy Rockets at 7:30pm.
