Tilbury Sub-station Changes

After analyzing sub-station usage, the Chatham-Kent Police Service is opting to move the administrative clerk from its Tilbury location.

That clerk will now work out of Blenheim, who is in need of a replacement due to a retirement. This will leave the Tilbury station vacant. But Chief Dennis Poole says servicing (like police checks) will still be provided in other ways.

"We have very little citizen traffic that does come in on a daily basis," says Poole. "And we have our municipal partners right next door in the same lobby that can pick up most of the other work that needs to be done." Officers in the area will also be able to drop in if there are legal questions or issues at the sub-station. As well there is a 24/7 callbox in front if police need to be contacted.

Out of the four sub-stations in Wallaceburg, Ridgetown, Blenheim and Tilbury, the Tilbury station sees the least amount of civilian walk-ins (less than six a day).
