SCCDSB Principal Changes

A number of schools will see a "changing of the guard" with one St. Clair Catholic District School Board principal retiring.

Shirley Churchill, current principal of Christ the King Catholic School, is set to retire at the end of 2014, prompting a number of reassignments come January. Our Lady of Fatima, St. Agnes, as well as St Joseph Schools in both Chatham and Corunna will also be affected.

The decisions were announced at a board meeting earlier this week. Director of Education Dan Parr says a mid-year change can actually have positive effects on school culture. "Those principals have in fact about five or six months, half a year, to observe things in their new locations before they have to begin to make decisions about staffing, and school improvement planning."

A full list of moves (with the principals' former positions in parentheses) can be found below:

Laura Callaghan (Principal at St. Joseph Catholic School Chatham) - Principal Christ The King Catholic School

Lisa Demers (Principal Section 23) - Principal Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School
