Chatham Welcomes Beach Boy

The Beach Boys could "get around" to coming to Chatham-Kent in the near future.

Co-founder Mike Love recently attended the Rotary Club's 75th annual banquet in Chatham, where he hinted at bringing the band to the area in August to help raise funds for the Chatham-Kent Hospice.

"Big cities like Detroit and Chicago get everything. It's great to be doing things in those types of situations, but it's really special when you go to a community that's smaller," says Love. "It's even more special when you can do it for a philanthropic purpose."

The banquet and the planned concert are both part of the Rotary Club's effort to raise $100,000 for the hospice.
