Maroons Edge Legionnaires

The Chatham Maroons took home their fifth win in a row with a close 4-3 win over the Sarnia Legionnaires.

During the game on Thursday, the Maroons started off with the first goal just over one minute into the game, but were down 2-1 by the end of the first. Chatham was able to make a comeback in the second with two goals, however Sarnia was able to tie the game 3-3 going into the third. Maroons forward Brayden Hopkins tipped the game in Chatham's favour when he scored the winning goal in the first half of the final period.

Maroons Assistant Coach Shawn Tiffin says the leaders of his team are really starting to shine this season.

"The exciting thing for the coaching staff is that the leaders are starting to be leaders, and that's who's scoring the goals," he says. "The kids are starting to realize that, for one, they're a good hockey club, and two, we still have a lot of work to do."

The Maroons are back on the ice on Sunday at 7pm to take on the St. Thomas Stars.
