The U.S. Coast Guard rescued three teenagers along the Detroit River Friday night after worsening weather conditions kept them trapped on Stony Island.
The teens became stranded after crossing from Grosse Ile, Michigan in a 12 ft boat. Coast Guard Sector Detroit rescued the three boys using a helicopter hoist.
All three teens were assessed by EMS and released.
The coast guard warns boaters to check the forecast before departure and pay attention to changing weather conditions.
