UPDATE: Investigation Into Fatal Blast Continues

Sarnia Police Services now say one of five men injured in an industrial explosion Saturday afternoon on Scott Rd. has succumbed to his injuries.

The victim, whose name will not be released, was one of five employees hurt in an explosion at Veolia ES Canada Industrial Services.

Four others, one believed to be in critical condition, remain in London hospital.

The Labour Ministry and Fire Marshall’s office are spearheading the investigation.

Eight employees were working at the tank car maintenance facility when the blast occurred around 2:40pm.

The force toppled part of a cinder brick wall and part of the roof caved in.

Scott Rd. is closed in the area and will be for some time until the investigation is complete.
