The Wallaceburg Lakers took a 5-3 win over the Amherstburg Admirals in Junior C hockey action Sunday night.

The Lakers scored two power play goals in the first period and another with just over a minute left in the period to gain a 3-0 lead. The second period belonged to the Admirals who scored two unanswered goals. However, Amherstburg was not able to catch up to the Lakers in the third, with Wallaceburg scoring two and the Admirals only scoring one.

Jackson Gray, Trevor Waller, Matt Clark, Brendan Ritchie, and Lucais Meyskens each scored one for Wallaceburg. Kasey Basile, Luke Gangnon and Jordan Luciw scored the three goals for Amherstburg.

The Lakers are back on the ice on Tuesday against the Essex 73’s at 7pm. The Admirals take on the Blenheim Blades on Saturday at 7:30pm.
