Birthday Girl Gives Back

Ten-year-old Rori Bennett is asking presents be given not to her, but to those in need.

This is the second year Bennett is holding a toy drive in support of Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario. Bennett and her parents used the resources made available during her stay at the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario. She had a number of surgeries performed due to a syndrome that affects the bones in her face and head.

Rori says the staff and facilities made her feel at home, and wants to do the same for other children. “They have a toyroom, they let you play games, they talk about personal things and I like that. So I said, ‘now that I’m using it less and less, why don’t I give other kids the same feeling?'”

The drive runs from October 19-November 19. Here’s a full list of where the toys can be dropped off in Wallaceburg:
