A 31-year-old Wheatley man is now facing a handful of charges in connection with a single-vehicle crash this past summer, that nearly claimed his life.

Police say on July 19, a black pickup truck was heading south on Wheatley Rd. when it left the roadway, crashing into a ditch. The driver was ejected from the vehicle at the time and sustained critical injuries.

Blood samples taken from the driver and police allege his blood alcohol content was almost four times the legal limit.

Officers have now charged Michael James Murray with dangerous driving, impaired driving, stunt driving and driving without a seatbelt.
