Astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield is premiering the first collection of songs written off-plant in Windsor this weekend.

The songs he wrote during his time at the International Space Station will be accompanied by the Windsor Symphony Orchestra during the performances. Windsor Symphony Orchestra conductor Robert Franz collaborated with Hadfield to create the orchestral score to go along with Hadfield’s guitar and vocals.

Hadfield says the pieces combine the culture of earth and the experience of space. “The music that I wrote and recorded on station is that, it is taking the culture that existed in one place and suddenly living in a new environment and it changes it, it starts to adapt it.”

All performances this weekend are sold out.
