Maroons Lose To Flyers

The Chatham Maroons fell 5-2 to the Leamington Flyers in GOJHL action Thursday night.
The Maroons struggled to get the puck in the net, outshooting the Flyers 33-24, but still only scoring one goal in the first period and one in the third. Leamington was able to score once in the first and two more times in each of the final periods.
Maroons Head Coach Mark Davis says despite the loss, he feels his team played a great hockey game.
“We outchanced them, they just outscored us,” he says. “There were a lot of times where the goaltender was looking behind and he had (the puck) underneath him. I didn’t think we played all that bad.”
The Maroons take on the LaSalle Vipers on Sunday at 7pm and the Flyers are back on the ice against the St. Marys Lincolns next Thursday at 7:10pm.
