The Wallaceburg Lakers can’t seem to catch a break after their sixth loss in a row, falling 5-3 to the Blenheim Blades.

Blenheim led the Lakers 4-1 by the end of the second period and the Lakers did their best to make a comeback in the third scoring two power play goals bringing the score to 4-3. However, the Blades ensured their win by scoring one final goal at the 14-minute mark.

Lakers Assistant Coach Derek Ellis says his team needs to learn how to play well consistently throughout all three periods.

“We can compete with every team in the league as long we come ready ┬áto play, and play three periods,” says Ellis. “It’s up to the boys to come and compete. It will be a positive outcome in the near future if we keep going at it.”

The Lakers take the Dresden Jr. Kings on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:30pm.
